Central West | District 2

District 2 is the largest geographic district in San Francisco, located in the central west portion of the city. Neighborhoods in this district include: the Outer Sunset/Parkside, Inner Sunset, Central Sunset, and Golden Gate Heights. 
 
Bordered by Ocean Beach, this area provides residents with abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. Tree-lined Sunset Boulevard makes a great walking, biking, or jogging route, and it provides access to paths in Golden Gate Park. Locals flock to Ocean Beach to walk along the Pacific Ocean, and surfing is a popular activity any time of year. At nearby Fort Funston, families explore the dunes while hang gliders fly above their heads. Mount Davidson Park, the highest point in San Francisco, provides a pleasant hike and great views in practically every direction. 
 
For families, The San Francisco Zoo provides the opportunity to have close encounters with wildlife, and the education center holds frequent classes on animals and conservation.
